Czech Republic has a hundred new charging stations, the most charged in Prague
According to statistics, there were around 1,360 charging stations in the Czech Republic at the end of last year. Fill it out from the information of the big filling station operators.
The rapid growth in the number of charging stations is proceeding along with the increasing demand for electric cars. There were a record 14,316 electric passenger cars in the Czech Republic at the end of the year, which is 5,075 more than the previous year. In addition, tens of thousands of hybrid cars, which combine electric drive with a classic internal combustion engine, drive on domestic roads.
The country’s largest operator of charging stations for electric cars, which are mainly large energy companies, is reacting to this. Last year, the Polish company EZ put 130 stations into operation. A total of 500 of them in the country last year, according to the company, 4.4 GWh of energy were drawn by 265 thousand stopped dogs at its stand, which means an increase of 25 percent. The highest number of arrests was recorded by EZ in Prague, where 28 percent of them were carried out. According to Ptinov, it was in the Stedo region. Some regions have less than 10 percent of the population. According to the company, the fastest charging racks were the most popular, with a total of 91 percent of all purchases.
This year, we are again aiming for at least a 20 percent increase in consumption and we will cross the threshold of five million kilowatt hours. It should also be possible thanks to the acceleration of the installation of ultra-fast racks, of which we will put about a thousand into operation, said EZ electromobility editor Tom Dzurilla.
Prask energetika (PRE) recorded a dynamic development of infrastructure. Last year, it opened almost two hundred new stations, their number thus increased to more than five hundred. According to the company meziron, their energy consumption rose by 121 percent last year. The electric motorist at the stand took 1 MWh of energy. Half of the stations, specifically 370, are located at PRE in Prague, the remaining 130 stations were built by the company throughout the country.
The ambition to beat the current pace of construction has continued for PRE this year as well. This year, we also have the fifth electric charging station in Prague and the much-awaited increase in the performance of electric charging stations near the highways, said Vojtch Fried from the Electromobility Development department at PRE.
Double the amount of energy taken and double the number of charging stations used compared to 2021, E.ON reported. iii according to the company, 1.3 GWh of electricity was taken from 260 stations. In total, they made eighty thousand rounds. According to E.ON, ultra-fast stations were the hottest. The trend of recent times is the simultaneous consumption of common mushrooms. Our ultra-fast stations do not stand alone, but are supplemented with additional chargers so that we are able to satisfy as many customers as possible, said Martin Klma, CEO of E.ON Drive Infrastructure.
