Turin transfer market: increased the offer to Verona to have Ilic
After a few days of stand-by, Turin is back to being serious for Ivan Ilic, midfielder for Verona and the Serbian national team. The Cairo club is willing to increase the first offer to try to convince Hellas to sell the player. In fact, interest remains alive on Ilicic of the Olympic Marseille who offered the Venetian club 16 million euros plus 3 in bonuses to secure the player’s card. Torino increased their previous offer by €3m, reaching, in total, 14 million, plus bonuses. To this offer we must add the possible offer for the price tag Hien which, however, would remain in Verona at least until June. Therefore, Torino does not match OM’s offer but leverages the player’s will to stay in Italy. A willingness that could lead Turin to make another small effort and Verona to sell the player to the Cairo club. By the way, responses are expected in the next few hours and as already mentioned, a lot will also depend on the will of the player who on the one hand wants his current club, Verona, to be satisfied with their requests and on the other prefers to stay in Italy.
Who is Ivan Ilyich? From Manchester City to Verona
Ivan Ilic he is certainly one of the ‘young’ players (born in 2001) with the greatest prospects in Europe. In fact, the boy, born in Nis, grew up in one of the most prolific youth sectors on the continent, that of Stella Rossin Belgrade. Along the way, it also draws it in the Manchester City Academy (with parentheses in the Netherlands at NAC Breda), the chances in the Citizens’ U23s, at the gates of Guardiola’s first team with which he never made his debut before being transferred to Verona first on loan and then outright. This season the midfielder played 11 league games (almost all as a starter) and one in the Italian Cup.
