Power failure in Cologne – several parts of the city affected
There is currently a power outage in parts of Cologne. RheinEnergie technicians are already on the job to fix the power failure.
Cologne – Numerous people in Cologne have no electricity on Wednesday evening. Around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, several parts of the city were affected by a “widespread power failure”, according to the RheinEnergie fault hotline. There have also been various reports of disturbances from local residents. This includes loud Rhine energy including the districts of Dellbrück and the surrounding area. There is also a power outage in Mülheim and the surrounding area. A resident of District of Cologne Mülheim reports that the power has been off since about 8:40 p.m. Accordingly, there is no electricity in the entire street.

It is not known how many people currently have no electricity. “Technicians are on duty to finance you as quickly as possible,” says the RheinEnergie fault hotline (as of 9:05 p.m.). Just a few hours earlier, on Wednesday afternoon, numerous Residents of Brühl reported a power failure there.
Power failure – what do I have to consider?
On its website, RheinEnergie provides tips on what to do in the event of a power failure.
- A lamp can be switched on to tell when the power is back on.
- “Keep refrigerators and freezers closed. Avoid opening fridges and freezers unnecessarily to prevent food spoilage.” Note: “Your fridge will keep refrigerating for a period of time without power. The exact duration can be found in the operating instructions for the device.
- “Switch off all electrical devices, especially dies that could be dangerous when they are switched on again.” RheinEnergie cites hotplates and irons as examples.
Numerous residents from different districts of Cologne also have Störsaufkunft.de reported a power outage. Most reports are in Mülheim and Dellbrück. (ml)
