Events at archaeological sites are returning in the summer of 2023

Sugar Mizzy January 25, 2023

Despite the fact that the series of events “All of Greece is one Culture» his Ministry of Culture and Sports in museums, monuments and archaeological sites was born from the needs of the pandemic, their success, however, led to their establishment as a one-year cultural institution which will give the potential of being present in the summer of 2023, for the fourth consecutive year.

The thematic axis of the events of 2023 is the awakening of society for the climate crisis. As in the previous years, this year the administration and thus the responsibility of the program is assumed by the National Opera in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior.

In the summer of 2022, the third edition of the institution “All Greece is a Culture” offered a wide range of 138 events in 66 archaeological sites, monuments and museums throughout Greece, with the aim of connecting and osmosis cultural heritage with modern creation , but also the highlighting and promotion of archaeological sites and monuments. The public response exceeded all expectations. The institution “All Greece is one Culture 2022” enabled artists and artistic groups to create new works on the thematic axis of the Commemorative Anniversary – 100 years since the Asia Minor Catastrophe, and at the same time attracted the interest of Greek and foreign visitors to important archaeological sites . , throughout the territory, supporting, at the same time, the local communities.

In 2023, the institution focuses on the major problem, for the present and the future of the planet, the climate crisis and its overwhelming consequences, not only in the lives of all of us, but also in the cultural stock, material and immaterial. The warnings of the scientific community about the irreversible consequences of the phenomenon, the energy crisis caused by the war, the difficult decisions of the community that must be taken into account now at the global level, registrations are required. In this context, this year’s organization of the institution “All Greece is a Culture” invites artists and artistic groups to create new works on this reflection, with readings that are not described in the reproduction of dystopian predictions, but raise questions for a global consideration of the phenomenon.

It is noted that the Ministry of Culture and Sports, as early as 2019, is working intensively, at the national and international level, to prevent the effects of the climate crisis on cultural heritage. It collaborates with research bodies and academic institutions of the country, as well as with international organizations, while projects and actions to protect archaeological countries and monuments registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List are being developed. The program of “All Greece is one Culture 2023” will be composed of the proposals, those selected by the Special Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, following an open invitation addressed to political bodies, operating in the form of Urban Non-Profit Companies (AMKE ).
The proposals to be submitted electronically through the Registry of Cultural Bodies (https://drasis.culture.gr/index.php/allofgreeceoneculture-gno) from Monday 30 January 2023 until Monday 20 February 2023.
Each proposal must combine at least two of the six areas:

• Music (all genres: classical, contemporary, traditional, etc.)
• Theater (all genres: prose, puppetry, shadow theater, etc.)
• Dance (all genres: classical, contemporary, etc.). Original music or arrangement/paraphrasing of already existing music required
• Musical Theater (Original music required)
• Visual Arts / performance (all types: painting, sculpture, photography, etc.)

• Performances/activities for children and teenagers.

In the proposals of the visual arts, the exhibition can also cover the entire period of the program, while the function of second art is presented up to twice.

Attica is not included in the institution’s program for 2023. However, AMKE based in Attica cannot submit a proposal. For the greatest benefit and the participation of local communities, after the selection of archaeological countries, museums and monuments by the Special Evaluation Committee, cooperation with local bodies (Municipalities, Regions, DIPETHE, local Festivals, etc.) is foreseen. , for the events. The framework of this cooperation will be determined by the Ministry of the Interior and the Hellenic Republic of Greece.

AMKE can additionally self-finance their proposal or look for sponsors. The technical specifications (sets, lights, sound, projections), transport and accommodation services, as well as the communication of the producers that must be included in the costing of the proposal.

Proposals must fall into the following costing categories. To be sufficiently justified and to include the necessary detailed budget and nominal reference of all factors, for the whole of each production. Each project must have a duration of 50-70 minutes with the obligation to present two performances, in the space to be determined by the Special Evaluation Committee.

By overall budgeting of €1,800,000 + VAT 70 derivatives will be financed. The money to be distributed as follows: €15,000 + VAT for 40 derivatives, €30,000 + VAT for 20 derivatives and €60,000 + VAT for 10 derivatives

The suggestions an original creation should be made, based on the above thematic axis, with the aim of developing synergies and compositions of cultural heritage and contemporary creation.

Artistic proposals that could focus on some of the following concerns regarding climate change, without this being binding:

• Philosophical and narrative approaches to the phenomenon of the climate crisis,
