The U17s continue, the U19s go back
The two Academy teams won this weekend, all without conceding a goal. A look back at the fine performances of AS Monaco’s young shooters.
Full card for the teams of the Academy! This weekend, the U17 and U19 both won, respectively against Saint-Priest and Blagnac, two poorly ranked. Congratulations gentlemen!
The pass of two for the U17s
Already winner of Grenoble last week (2-1), the men of Manu Dos Santos continue their flawless performance in 2023. Opposed to AS Saint-Priest at the Stade Prince Héréditaire Jacques de Beausoleil, the partners of Nick Mokabakila did not tremble in the face of the red lantern of the championship.
At the reception of a good center, Laurent Carvalho scored the only goal of the match at the half-hour mark. Solid defensively, the young Monegasque shooters retained their invincibility and won by the smallest of margins. Thanks to this success, the U17s move up to second place in the standings, just two points behind AS Saint-Étienne. Dage!

The U19s representing forward
With three defeats in the last five meetings, Fred Barilaro’s men have allowed themselves to win again so as not to see the leading teams go away. It’s chosen done, since on the lawn of Blagnac – last in the standings – the captain’s teammates Maysam Benama won 0-2 thanks to two goals in the last quarter of an hour of Sandro Bertolucci and Ilane Toure.
The Red and Whites thus split from Haute-Garonne with the three points in their pocket. With this good result, the U19s fell just two points behind third-placed Marseille… whom they will face on February 5. But before this shock, the Red and Whites travel to Nancy this Sunday, as part of the round of 16 of the Coupe Gambardella.
