South of Toulouse, in Muret, the gendarmes dismantle cocaine trafficking
A dwelling on Avenue des Pyrénées was used for drug-related transactions. The Muret gendarmerie arrested the main author of this discreet traffic, an Algerian in an irregular situation, sentenced since last Friday to 8 months in prison.
The petty trafficking, but also the heavy drug trafficking that has plagued Muret for several years now, has suffered a serious setback thanks to the stubbornness and efficiency of the Muret gendarmes.
The latter, at the end of last year, had been alerted by their colleagues from the municipal police that local residents had witnessed suspicious movements in an apartment located on avenue des Pyrénées. The gendarmes of the Muret company research brigade then monitored these comings and goings. They were quick to suspect the presence of drug trafficking. Illicit transactions were indeed counted by ten every day. All that remained was to “get our hands on” these delinquents. What was done on Tuesday, January 17, with the arrest of a consumer and the main author of the traffic proving to be a traffic of cocaine.
It was at this Algerian in an irregular situation, aged around 30, that the traffic took place, in his apartment on the avenue des Pyrénées. A clientele came from Muretain, but not only (Toulouseans were also identified), to supply themselves with hard drugs.
“Uber-shit at home…”
Very varied profiles, ranging from the wealthy classes to more modest customers. And who did not hesitate to invest the city center of Muret, only a few hectometres from the gendarmerie… The Algerian, head of the network therefore, was presented last Friday evening to a judge for immediate comparison. He was sentenced to 8 months in prison. The consumer arrested, as well as others identified, were given a judicial summons for a criminal composition.
“We know that there is traffic at Muret, but in a fixed point like that it is quite rare. We are satisfied to have managed to dismantle this über shit at home generating traffic and money, ”says Lieutenant-Colonel Filipe Joaquim, commander of the gendarmerie company of Muret.
