Investment signal to Turkey from Putin’s friend Russian oligarch
Vladimir Potanin, one of the richest people in Russia and the owner of Nornickel from the top of the world, described by some as Putin’s Vault, told the Russian broadcaster RBC that the regulations “directly affect the operation of the company and the executive, but of course, including the financial side.” It limits its capabilities and the development of the markets in which the company operates,” he said.

Potanin stated that Nornickel’s plans for new markets were disrupted, and that due to this situation, they had to change their investment strategy in a way that would make investments in Russia and friends.
“Naturally, we find ways to get out of this house. We are moving friendly servers by restructuring logistics chains. China, Turkey, Morocco and other Arab countries,” he said.
Ranked first in Russia, 38th richest in the world
In August 2022, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Russia’s richest man, Potanin, with a net worth of $24.4 billion, was the 38th richest person in the world. In January 2018, Potanin was on the US Treasury Department’s “Putin list” of 210 members with Russian President Vladimir Putin nearby.
In June 2022, the United Kingdom sanctioned Potanin for being one of the biggest oligarchs “close witnesses of President Vladimir Putin”. Potanin previously served as Deputy Prime Minister in Russia. Potanin, who always appears side by side with Putin, is known as the hockey friend of the Russian President.
