REPLAY. Champions Cup: Stade Toulousain bends Munster after a tough battle! Relive the film of the match
Already qualified for the round of 16, the “Red and Black” intended to conclude the group stage in style against the still formidable players of the Irish province.
Three games, three wins, one clear round. This Sunday, January 22, the rugby players of Stade Toulousain were able to move forward relatively quietly, when they received the always formidable Irish from Munster, for the fourth and last day of the first round of the Champions Cup.
The “Red and Black” were, in fact, already qualified for the round of 16. It’s up to them now: to force their destiny to afford a series of competitions that are as easy as possible. Thus, the deal is simple: if they want to get ahead of La Rochelle (18 points) and finish first in this group B, the Toulousains (currently 5th with 13 points and a goal average of + 53) must therefore beat Munster with the offensive bonus and with at least 11 points difference.
In this case, we could almost speak of a royal road, at least on paper: the Touloursains played the round of 16 and a possible quarter-final at home; and a possible semi-final in France.
