SZOLJON – Olaj lost in Debrecen
During the week, life took place around DEAC’s house, because due to a much weaker performance than expected, the club management replaced the Slovenian head coach, David Dedek, and the former coach of their U23 team, Andjelko Mandics, became his successor. This is not the first head coaching assignment for the Serbian professional in the NB I, who previously managed the crews of Falco and Szeged. He is expected to lead the Cívis townspeople, who are in 10th place, into the top eight.
At Olajbányász, who have been undefeated in eight games, they could still count on the play of Jimmy Gavin, Norbert Lukács, András Sebők, Roland Vincze and Tamás Pallai, the latter will certainly have spine surgery in the next few days. On the other hand, the center Máté Mokánszki, on loan from Nyíregyháza, was able to introduce himself, and he can strengthen the Szolnok team until the end of February.

Unfortunately, the picture of the game did not change after that, as the home team scored 26 points, while the team from Szolnok reached only 9 points by the end of the first quarter. The visiting team also tried in the ten minutes, but it was still poor, 30
made personal throws from the field, while the Debrecen team ended the first half with a 60 percent rate, 42-23.
After the turn, Olajbányász not only boosted themselves, but also the game, Bojan Szubotics followed their opponents, and DEAC started to hurry. There was no weak point for the Szolnok team, with Gábor Rudner’s second triple, they went up 53-49 at the end of the third quarter.
In the final act, the red and blacks, driven by their fans, continued to chase their opponent, and with Szubotics’ three, they closed to 55-52 in the 32nd minute. Still DEAC went on a 9–0 run, 64–52.
