Toulouse: “the animals make the pub”, the new colorful exhibition to discover at the Paul-Dupuy museum
A new temporary exhibition dedicated to animals in advertising is to be discovered at the Musée des Arts Précieux Paul-Dupuy in Toulouse.
After three years of work, the Paul-Dupuy Museum of Precious Arts reopened its doors on Monday January 16 with a new temporary exhibition entitled “Owls, doggie matous, animals make the pub”.
In 2021, the collections of posters and advertising material from MATOU, the Toulouse poster museum, joined the Paul-Dupuy Museum of Precious Arts. This hanging presents around thirty posters from the end of the 19th century to the 20th century. It follows on from the previous presentations of the collection of advertising posters and announces a program of temporary exhibitions of all the graphic arts collections in the Paul-Dupuy Museum of Precious Arts.
L‘exhibition is located on the second floor of the museum, with a first room where we attend an audiovisual projection of advertisements around the animal theme. Recently renovated, the visit opens onto three bright spaces where you can discover iconic, lively and colorful advertising posters that delight young and old alike..
VS‘is also an opportunity to admire advertising posters where the animal occupies a highly symbolic place, a reflection of our society, in which it has held and still holds a major place today.
