Prague – The police are looking for an attacker who attacked and seriously injured a twenty-three-year-old man who was helping a young woman at one of the bars in Argentinská street in Prague 7 at the end of last October. The man is fighting for his life in the hospital, if he survives, he will most likely remain paralyzed, the police said today website spokesman Richard Hrdina. In order to clarify the case, the police officers also need to speak with the young woman whom the attacked person tried to help, as other potential witnesses. They should contact them on line 158.
If caught and convicted, the perpetrator faces up to ten years in prison for grievous bodily harm.
According to the spokesman, on October 30, paramedics were called to Argentinská street to a man who was conscious, doctors at the hospital subsequently discovered that he could not have caused the injury himself, so the case was taken over by Prague criminal investigators from the first department. They subsequently discovered that a man in front of one of the bars, an unknown young woman, had asked for help in taking care of her friend, who had become ill and needed water. “The young man did not hesitate and was most likely attacked while searching for clean water. His injuries are so serious that he is fighting for his life in the hospital and is unable to communicate,” said a spokesman about the incident.
For any witnesses who may have information about the case, the police have published a photo of the victim and the clothes they were wearing at the time of the incident on their website.
