FLORENCE

the events not to be missed on 20, 21 and 22 January 2023

Sugar Mizzy January 20, 2023

Here are the appointments not to be missed while shopping, remember that there are still the saletheatre, concerts and neighborhood markets.

VinoKilo

It will stop at the Central Market of Florence for the first time Vinokilo: the iconic format that combines shopping, entertainment, music, good food and drink. Various creative and experiential activities are planned during the days of sale per kg at the Market: screen printing, upcycling and live painting workshops to personalize the purchased garments, live music and soundtracks with local DJs, tastings of the goodness of the artisans.

Handcrafted

This weekend the appointment with is back Handcrafted: the market exhibition in which, wandering among the many stalls, you can find everything and more: from small furniture to decorative objects and obviously vintage with bags, glasses, scarves, American and Italian costume jewellery, clothes, shoes big names.

Duke Ellington Orchestra

It does not mean, What if it doesn’t have that swing, Indigo mood, In a sentimental mood are some of the songs that have marked the extraordinary career of Duke Ellington and the history of music. These, and many others, will be presented again in concert at the Tuscany Hall in Florence on the occasion of the date that opens the new Italian tour of the Duke Ellington Orchestrathe historic orchestra born in 1923 that has trodden the stages of every continent.

Festival pancakes

A festival that just pronouncing it makes everyone a little happier that takes place in San Donato in Collina. The fraction on the occasion of Feast of pancakes of rice is transformed into the “land of pancakes” and is preparing to welcome greedy visitors on Saturday and Sunday from morning until evening (or better, while stocks last).

The chocolate party

In Certaldo the Chocolate Festival. An unmissable appointment for lovers of chocolates, hot chocolate and crepes. To animate the event: music and even attractions for the little ones.

Holy Spirit at the fair

The usual appointment with returns on Sunday Holy Spirit at the Fair. 70 stands of various kinds, food and handicrafts await you for the usual open-air shopping.

Carnival event

This Sunday, prepare your make-up and costumes because the first appointment of the season with the Carnival of the Children of Vitolini. From Piazza del Popolo the parades of the traditional allegorical floats will start, which will enliven the small Tuscan town. The protagonists of the event will be the children who can have fun dressing up, dancing, throwing confetti and much more.

Appointment at the theater

Almost friends

At the Teatro Verdi Massimo Ghini and Paolo Ruffini stage a stage adaptation based on the French film Almost friends. The theatrical transposition of the film makes it possible to dilate, in the theatrical dramaturgy, those emotions that arise for the cinema with another language, not only visual, but also filmic.

Constellations

According to a theory of quantum physics there would be an infinite number of parallel universes, the so-called multiverses that could coexist in the same continuum of dimensions. A sort of sliding doors with so many final possibilities that they singled out from different choices. The theme is addressed in the new show Constellationsby the British playwright Nick Payne on stage at the Puccini theatre.

The bell cap

Gabriele Lavia is among the most representative protagonists of our theater and returns with The bell cap to face with extraordinary energy Luigi Pirandello, one of his most congenial and beloved authors. A bitter, ironic and cruel text, mirror of a society “sick of lies”.

I kill her with gas

I kill her with gas, the show that sees the irresistible Gianni Ferreri and Danila Stalteri on stage in an unmissable series of sketches will be at the Cestello Theater this weekend. The show unfolds through a series of scenes that examine, in a rigorously comic and grotesque key, various cases of the types of wives or husbands who are eventually “eliminated” by their spouse.
