With Erdogan President Putin talking on the phone 5 and 16 January. Official communications of the press service. One of the topics adopted was Ukrainian conflictwhere Russia and Turkey have different positions.
This was reported by experts. At the direction of Maxim Alontsev, Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Classical Oriental and Antiquity, National Research University Higher School of Economics, first of all, logistics connects the Russian Federation with an endless connection: new transport routes to replace those lost after the rupture of relations with European countries due to the Ukrainian conflict. “A new logistics is being built as a whole. It is in this disease that the Russian Federation is betting on Turkey and Iran, ”Alontsev believes.

However, Russia did not talk about building a kind of “triangle,” Nikolai Bobkov, head of the laboratory for problems of the level and quality of life at the Institute of Socio-Economic and Population Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, explained to URA.RU. This is a purely bilateral relationship. In cases – third-party partners, but with Turkey, the expert believes, there are still more contradictions. “Turkey plays an important role in the Ukrainian conflict – the role of a negotiator. She is not on our side, but at the same time she has not joined the sanctions against Russia.
Erdogan does this in the detention of his country. Friendship with Iran in Russia is built on many anti-American positions. Iran is the main antagonist of the US in the Middle East. Iran did not support the Russian special operation in Ukraine, but admitted that it was connected with the United States and NATO, ”Bobkov explained.
French President Emmanuel Macron (left) until recently was a frequent, but, as it turned out, unreliable interlocutor of the Russian leader.

Back in the spring, growth with Erdogan ended with a negotiator on the Ukrainian conflict with Putin News from French President Emmanuel Macron (once even in company with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz). But for several months now he has only announces its the appearance of the expected telephone exciters with excitement, but not a single call took place. Why – Putin explained to the Valdai expert club in October 2022. Then he declaredthat it was always believed that all telephone conversations take place in a tête-à-tête mode, but at the beginning of the same year they showed that the dialogue between the two leaders was on the speakerphone, journalists listened to it and was audio recorded. In addition, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly spokethat the French side did not accept any specific proposals for discussion with Putin, which means that there can be no conversation.
In absentia, Putin called the West through President Erdogan’s Turkish dialogue, and this thread is important for Russia, Vladimir Evseev, director of the Center for Social and Political Studies, is convinced. But still, Turkey is a NATO country, and there can be no absolute trust here. According to Evseev, trade relations and military-technical cooperation with Iran there is a very high dynamics than with Turkey. But the most important thing is the military-political cooperation between Russia and Iran, which is officially little spoken about.
As Vladimir Yevseev noted, the Iranian parliament is discussing the issue of recognizing NATO, which includes the EU army, meeting with the conflict. Given the fact that it is the proxy war that is connected with Russia in Ukraine, this position brings Russia and Iran very close.

Iran’s actions in the post-Soviet space did not take on such challenges, it does not have such a study in Central Asia, Russia can help it increase it. And for RF [которая сейчас в одиночку противостоит в этом регионе политике НАТО] Iran is becoming a deterrent for the North Atlantic Alliance, ”the political scientist concluded.
