Snow again on a happy Occitanie holiday
Meteo France announces snow again Thursday evening and next night on a good feast of Occitania. A total of seven departments are represented on alert orange in ice and snow between 6 p.m. this Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday morning. These are Tarn, Tarn et Garonne, Aveyron, Lot, Aude, but also Hérault and Pyrénées-Orientales.
Aude prohibits the circulation of heavy goods vehicles and public transport
Given the snowfall expected on the main roads and the risks incurred in terms of road safety, the Aude prefecture took the evening decision to ban the circulation of heavy goods vehicles, school transport and public transport on the road network of the department until Friday noon. The ban on public passenger transport does not apply to the urban networks of Carcassonne and Narbonne.
Snowfall was expected from 8 p.m. this Thursday evening on the plain and in relief. It is expected up to 5 cm of snow on the A9, 10 cm on the A61 and 20 cm on the reliefs.
Up to 15 to 30 centimeters on the reliefs of the Tarn…
We expect to possible brief but heavy snowfall this Thursday evening in the north of the region. This is particularly the case in the Tarn on the black mountain, on the Lacaune mountains and in the plain, with 3 to 5 centimeters at first, to reach up to 15 to 20 or even 30 centimeters at night.
Therefore, the school transport is suspended this Friday in the Lacaune sector, announces the Tarn Prefecture.
… and maybe a few snowflakes in Toulouse
Consequence of this disturbance which progresses towards the east from the Atlantic seaboard, Météo France also evokes possible snowfall in Haute-Garonne at the beginning of the night from Thursday to Friday. It is even possible that the Toulouse conurbation will be affected by snowfall giving in places two to three centimeters.
