Presentation of the literary and journalistic competition on the Olympic spirit of San Marino • newsrimini.it

Sugar Mizzy January 19, 2023

This morning, the National Olympic Committee of San Marino presented the first edition of the literary and journalistic competition on the topic “The Olympic Spirit of the Republic of San Marino” in the presence of the Secretary of State for Labour, Sport and Information, Teodoro Lonfernini; in remote connection the Secretary of State for Culture and Education Andrea Bellucci; the president of the CONS Gian Primo Giardi and the president of the Judging Commission, Saverio Giacobelli.

The Secretary of State Teodoro Lonferniniafter thanking director Jacobelli for his presence, he commented: “I am happy to be able to participate in this interesting initiative launched by the CONS, a project that can help promote the image of San Marino both in the area and abroad. The contest will combine sporting practice with storytelling and will be able to bring prestige to our sports movement. I hope that this initiative will continue over time and be repeated for several editions”.

The Secretary is on the same line of thought Belluzzi. “Sport is both culture and education. One of the most beautiful elements that belong to sport are the infinite stories behind every gesture and it is the author’s and journalist’s pen that has to tell them. he has declared.

Gian Primo Giardi instead he underlined the importance of this new initiative: “We have also included the competition in the Olympic Committee’s Sports Policy Program and have built a high-level Judging Commission. We want to dare to promote the competition as much as possible, in which we really believe so much, trying to address journalists, students and drawing the attention of the San Marino communities abroad by involving our Olympic athletes”.

The president of the Examination Commission – which will be chaired together with him, by the teachers of humanities Lucy Crescentini And Ferdinand Gasperoniwith Gian Primo GiardiAnd Massimo Boccucciresponsible for communication of the CONS – Saverio Giacobelli Emphasize the importance of reaching out to young people. “The literary and journalistic competition is a vehicle for promoting culture, because it allows all the kids who want to put themselves to the test to tell sport from their point of view in the era of social networks. We need culture in this historic moment and this project can give us the opportunity to make San Marino known to the world”.

The presidents of the Information Council and the San Marino Sports Press Association, Robert Church and Eli Gorinithey agree on the need to start re-educating the story. “This is a very beautiful cultural operation. We hope that by doing so, new young people will be able to become passionate about our profession. The Republic has many beautiful stories to tell and to write” they commented.

The competition, divided into Senior and Junior categoriesis divided into two sections: a narrative, which includes poetry, novel, historical-literary study, story of pure creation; and one dedicated to journalism, with articles designed for print or web publications (maximum 6,000 characters) or the production of audio or audiovisual texts lasting a maximum of five minutes. It will be possible to send the productions, necessarily written in Italian, by mail or by envelope to the CONS Secretariat by June 30, 2023.
