Niclas Füllkrug: Via Qatar and Cologne to the Kraichgau? | NDR.de – Sports

Sugar Mizzy January 19, 2023

Status: 01/19/2023 8:23 p.m

For Bundesliga club Werder Bremen, the away game at 1. FC Köln is on the program on Sunday evening. Many eyes will be on Niclas Füllkrug, whose good performances at the World Cup in Qatar drew even more attention to himself from other clubs.

The top scorer will wear the Werder jersey for the 108th time on Saturday (6:30 p.m., in the live center on NDR.de) in the game against “Geiß Einem Böcken” in a competitive game. It is currently still uncertain whether there will be many more cases in the green and white jersey with the advertising imprint of a poultry farming company. Because the filling jug is currently quickly as popular as the meat products from Bremen’s main sponsor. The 29-year-old is associated with other clubs almost every day.

The fact that “gap”, as he is called, has changed his most recent consulting agency, further fueled the rumors of a change.

Bayern, Everton and Gladbach are said to be interested

Industry leader FC Bayern Munich was already said to have had their eye on Füllkrug immediately after the end of the Winter Desert World Cup in Qatar. Apparently, Werder has not yet received an offer from the series champion with the well-known fixed-term deposit account.

Also not from Everton, Borussia Mönchengladbach or TSG Hoffenheim, who are also traded in the rumor mill as potential new employers for the attacker.

Fritz assumes that the filling mug is whereabouts

“It’s quiet at the moment. And I’m assuming that he will also play for us in the second half of the season,” explained Clemens Fritz, head of professional football at the Hanseatic League. The ex-defender also made no secret of being willing to talk under certain conditions: “If an economically and sportingly interesting offer comes in, we should deal with it if that’s what we want.”

Will Hoffenheim fill the jug with the Rutter millions?

Not public that Fritz will receive a call from his esteemed Hoffenheim colleague Alexander Rosen in the coming days. The 42-year-old holds the post of director of professional football at TSG, is known for his good hand in transfers and, after the sale of young striker Georginio Rutter to the English Premier League club Leeds United, reportedly has 28 million euros more in the club’s treasury than before the start of the winter break.

A new striker was brought in in the Danish Kasper Dollberg after the Rutter sale. It remains to be seen whether the loan from the French first division club OGC Nice can be an appropriate replacement for the 20-year-old. At FC Sevilla, to which Dollberg was last loaned out, things were not going well for him.

So they should think about filling jugs at the club from the Kraichgau media reports.

Switching to TSG would hardly make sense from a sporting point of view

At TSG, the national player would meet coach André Breitenreiter, whom he already knows from the days together at Hannover 96. You could also reminisce every now and then. So far so good. Of course, Füllkrug would also get a higher salary from Hoffenheim than he currently has from Werder. But in terms of sport, a move to the Kraichgau Stand would even be a tribute to the 29-year-old: TSG is eleventh in the table, two places behind Bremen.

And because the striker has not yet officially announced anywhere that he has an emotional relationship with TSG and that he used to sleep in the bedding of the gymnastics and sports community, there are very few arguments in favor of his move to Hoffenheim.

Coach Werner: “Plane with him”

Füllkrug doesn’t give the impression that he wants to leave the club anyway. On Thursday he trained in a good mood with his Bremen teammates. And coach Ole Werner does not believe that the rumors about him will affect the goalscorer in his appearance and performance. “I don’t see any changes there,” said the coach. “I’m happy that I can plan with him.”

Doesn’t sound like “gap” will tear a gap in the Bremen squad this winter.

So they could play:

1. FC Cologne: Schwäbe – Schmitz, Hubers, Chabot, Hector – Skhiri, Martel, Duda, Kainz – Maina, Tigges
WerderBremen: Pavlenka – Stark, Veljkovic, Friedl – Weiser, Groß, Jung, Bittencourt, Gruev – Ducksch, jug
