American from USA
The internal intelligence service of the FSB of Russia arrested a US citizen for espionage. In connection with his initiation of a criminal case, the FSB said on Thursday in Moscow.
His activities were directed against the security of the Russian Federation. The FSB did not provide details. The man faces up to 20 years in prison. For the Kremlin, such cases were considered a “valuable trump card” for the return of the Russians who are in the Deal in the United States. Recently, the US and Russia have repeatedly exchanged commercial deals.
The recent release of US citizens showed Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin that the time had come to replenish the “exchange fund,” said Russian opposition leader Leonid Volkov, coming in foreign exile. “Every foreigner in Russia is currently at risk for the exchange fund in the first place,” said Volkov, who works for Putin’s foreigner Alexei Navalny, who is imprisoned in a prison camp.
The security apparatus in Moscow has long been criticized for also constructing cases against foreigners to then exchange them for Russians in relationships in other states.
