“Access to Monaco must improve in the coming years”
The Minister of State mentioned three essential points relating to the quality of life in the Principality: housing, mobility and the development of digital technology.
After an interruption linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Monegasque Minister of State’s greeting ceremony was held on Wednesday 18 January at his residence. In the presence of his Government Advisors-Ministers, Céline Caron-Dagioni, Jean Castellini, Isabelle Berro-Amadei, Patrice Cellario and Christophe Robino, Pierre Dartout gave an update on the quality of life in the Principality.
” The National Housing Plan is well respected and the expected achievements will exceed the objectives in quantitative termsintroduced by the Minister of State. 280 million euros will be mobilized this year. We will have to take into account these constructions, which are essential from a social and economic point of view, while ensuring that these works will be as well accepted as possible by the population. »
Work to be carried out in consultation with France
Pierre Dartout also mentioned the subject of mobility, particularly for workers who come to the Principality from abroad: “ our strategy distinguishes the short term and the medium term. The short-term fixes will satisfy many people, as traffic will be smoother, but they might get in the way of others. There will be choices to be made. Access to Monaco must improve in the years to come, in particular by the construction of the hopper, at the entrance to the city to the west of the Principality. It is something important. As far as medium and long-term measures are concerned, several possibilities are open. But we cannot work on this subject without consultation with the local and national French authorities, that is to say the Ministry of Transport. »
Pierre Dartout concluded this section with digital access in the Principality: “ this year will be important, because it must be the year of the transition from copper to fiber. 95% of the Principality is now served by fiber: everyone has to settle in to this new system in order to gradually abandon copper. »
