Russia entered the top 25 countries with the fastest paid holidays and state holidays
Russia is covered in the list of 25 countries with the most free days of vacation and public holidays, according to our research Resume.io.
The experts analyzed where the right to leave is widespread among employees and at the same time they continue to receive wages. Conditions were studied in 197 countries around the world. The study collected data from government websites of the International Labor Organization and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Four weeks’ leave has become something of a norm in many parts of the world, although some are counted in working days (eg 20 days) and some in full weeks (7–14 days) or months (28–30 days) are often used trips.
Basic Research
- Countries in Africa and the Middle East dominate the top of the overall list. The record holder for the number of public holidays (27) in the world and the most paid vacation days (53) was found in Iran. Religious holidays and days dedicated to events are realized with the implementation of the revolution, their contribution to this amount appears.
- 22 countries were identified with 30 days of paid leave per year, which is the most affordable paid leave, 10 of which are freely available. The national average is 18.2 days of paid leave per year.
- The country with the lowest rate of paid vacation days (0) and the second highest rate of paid vacation days in the world (10) is the United States. It is the only developed country that does not have paid legal leave. There are at least 10 legal public holidays in the US, although private employers are not required to observe them as days off. In this country, paid leave is at the discretion of the employer. According to the OECD, the average employee gets 14 days after their first year at a company, but 15% of staff have no paid leave at all. In the ranking of expenses, they took the penultimate place.
- The Pacific island countries of Nauru, Micronesia, and Kiribati, like the United States, do not receive paid annual leave at all.
- No country in East and Southeast Asia made it into the top 25 countries with the fastest paid public holidays and paid annual leave at all.
