Roméo, educated near Toulouse, among the 15 winners of the competition
200 young students from all over France took part in the competition entitled Your drawing in space. The 15 winners were announced on January 17, 2023. Among them: Roméo, educated near Toulouse (Haute-Garonne).
Who will see his drawing go into space? The answer was given in the afternoon of January 17, 2023, at the Gaston Bonheur elementary school in Balma, near Toulouse. And it was the organizers of the competition, the CEO of Kinéis and the head of the Cité de l’Espace’s educational department, who made the trip to announce the good news.
200 young schoolchildren from all over France made a drawing in the hope of seeing it go into space. Subject imposed for this competition: a Satellitethe Earth in order to illustrate the observation of the planet for the protection of the environment.
“At Kineis, on one of the satellitesyou can follow a lot of thingsexplains to the class Alexandre Tisserant. Objects, boats, animals, a whole lot of things…“And the applications are manifold.”Sur will launch 25 new satellites small in size, nano satellites, which are the size of a large shoebox and we have a little space to engrave drawings“, further specifies the CEO of Kineis, as if to prolong the suspense.
The fifteen winning designs will be engraved and will go into space. The class winner? Romeo’s. “Oh yeah ? it’s too good“. Applause.
Romeo shyly explains that he drew”a satellite that goes to a kind of beach and watches the fish in the water.“The young boy admits to having taken it twice to make his drawing. And he hit the mark.
“That’s good because with the satellites that we send, that’s exactly what we do. There are scientists who have little beacons that they emit on sharks, turtles, penguins to follow them“, comforts Alexandre Tisserant.
Projects related to the scientific field, “this is part of school learning: satellites, comment on sending them into space and their role in observing the Earth. Does it make you dream? launches the school teacher, Sonia Nedjari. Yesiii“.
At Kinéis, “we are committed to sharing this with the education community. And it’s also true that, at the time of global warming and new space ambitions, we said to ourselves that we were developing space imaginations that would be desirable for everyone, it’s super important. And that, it is worked from an early age“, says the CEO of the company.
Awaken vocations. Making space, an accessible dream. The mission is already well under way. “My drawing is too random, he goes into space and he goes to see the Earth. Not me.“Romeo is not aware of it, but he is indeed a part of him engaged in the conquest of space.
