Incredible images of rare white moose finally captured after three years of searching

Sugar Mizzy January 17, 2023

What is this, Narnia?

Uncolored animals are the rarest and coolest things to encounter in nature.

In general, they are truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences, which is part of why spending time outdoors is so much fun. You never know what kind of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities you might stumble upon.

This throwback to this video from 2017 that perfectly encapsulates one of those experiences.

According to Washington Postnature lover Hans Nilsson chased this guy for three years just to get a good look at him.

Finally he came across the mysterious elk and two days in a row he was able to meet this amazing animal. Nilsson describes the experience perfectly.

“When I shot the video, everything fell into place: the location, the light and the calm.

It was an experience to meet such a majestic animal up close.”

It would be a dream, especially to have the opportunity to photograph and film an animal like this. It’s not often that a moose stays calm for you to get into pictures, especially one so rare.

Sweden is said to have 400,000 moose, but it is said that there are only 100 of these white moose. This is also said to be only the second ever to do so on camera. That folks, is very impressive. Hats off to Nilsson because I love knowing that this kind of thing even exists.

Being a moose lover who will drive for hours just for the chance to see one, I can’t even imagine running into this guy.

Just amazing…

It is said that hunters in the area continually pass on these animals when they are crossed while hunting in the hope that the genetic trait will be passed on and more will begin to appear, however there have been the occasional hunter who will take an albino or red buck.

It is always a point of contention…

That said, thanks to Hans for searching for three years to get pictures of this beauty.

Montana man charged by moose checking his mail

The moose are one of the most amazing creatures that roam the country.

The largest around North America, and by far one of the coolest to see.

However, they are one of the most dangerous. Known to get very defensive of their young, in heat and in general due to their poor eyesight and size, they won’t mind running clean over your bum.

And this man in Bozeman, Montana certainly found out firsthand.

He goes out and you notice a moose standing up across the road. It almost seems like he knows it’s there and he’s going to check it out.

But… he doesn’t.

Completely oblivious, he begins to turn his back on it without ever seeing it, and as it takes its first steps towards him, he looks up and is clearly completely amazed at what’s in front of him.

“Went to check the mail and I didn’t realize a moose was staring me down from across the street.

It started charging me and my dog Reecey barked letting me know we were in danger.

She lunged at the moose and then circled back and we both high-tailed it inside.

No harm done…

But let’s skip the morning coffee and have the old morning moose charge… I think that would wake you up a little better. If this didn’t feel awake, he was definitely after it.
