January 19, 1986: AS Monaco 9-0 Girondins de Bordeaux
The record !
In this winter of 1986, AS Monaco, trained by Lucien Müller, hosted the reigning champions at the Stade Louis-II: the Girondins de Bordeaux. Sixth in the championship at the start of the game, the Red and Whites were quick to turn the game in their favour. From the first minute, Félix Lacuesta unblocks the situation. The harbinger of a one-sided first half?
Not really, since only Bernard Genghini manages to shake the nets a second time before the break. It was in the second half that the game really unleashed: 3-0 from the 46th minute, 5-0 on the hour mark thanks to two goals from… Genghini. Daniel Bravo also goes there for his double, and the former Sochaux finally offers himself a quadruple! Meanwhile, Philippe Anziani has also put his name on the scoreboard. Final score 9-0, the greatest success in history of AS Monaco in the league.

September 8, 1978: AS Monaco 6-1 OGC Nice
A one-way Derby
For this tenth day of the championship of the 1978-1979 season, AS Monaco receives its great rival: OGC Nice on the occasion of the Derby of the Côte d’Azur. But that day, the meeting between the two clubs turns very clearly to the advantage of the locals. In 35 minutes, Raoul Noguès twice and the inevitable Delio Onnis Assembly of the Aiglons without reaction.
Result, 3-0 at halftime and the festival continues during the second act from Albert Emon, Christian Dalger and Delio Onnis for his double sink a little more from Nice who will reduce the gap through Daniel Sanchez at the end of the game. That season, the Reds and Whites finished in fourth place, while Nice finished the year in a modest fifteenth place.

A match in legend
who does not remember of this memorable meeting ? On this November evening, AS Monaco is writing the beginning of the most beautiful page in its history in the Champions League. Facing the Spaniards of Deportivo La Coruna, on the occasion of the fourth day of the group stage, the band at Flavio Roma will sign a success as convincing as it is historic. From the second minute, Jerome Rothen initiates hostilities.
It will be imitated barely nine minutes later by its counterpart on the right, Ludovic Giuli (2-0 11th). Start then the show Dado Prso. On the evening of his 29th birthday, the Croatian striker decides to offer himself his gift: an express quadruple in 24 minutes (25th, 29th, 45th, 49th) to literally knock out Depor, who had meanwhile scored by two times. In the second half, Jaroslav Plasil (46th) and Edouard Cisse (68th) invites himself to the party and seals a historic success which, a few years later, will enter into the legend of the Club, AS Monaco succeeding in the final of the event against FC Porto.

The Mbappé revelation
For their entry into the competition, AS Monaco inherits for this round of 16 a fine Ligue 1 team: Stade Rennais, winner of the previous round of Lorient (3-2). On this winter evening of 2016, a young player, freshly winner of the Gambardella Cup in May will mark the meeting with his mark: Kylian Mbappé. Then only 17 years old, the striker #MadeInLaDiagonale will offer themselves the first hat-trick among professionals, by adjusting Paul Nardi – on loan from AS Monaco to Stade Rennais – in the 11th, 21st and 62nd minutes of play.
But before the three achievements of the then number 29, Gabriel Boschilia had brought the score to 3-0 before returning to the locker room. Overwhelmed, the Rennais conceded a new goal from the Brazilian (5-0, 78th) before giving in completely at the end of the match, on the achievements of Corentin Jean (6-0, 83rd) then Dimitri Cavaré against his camp (7-0 85th ). Surgical!

What was supposed to be a duel at the top turned into a one-sided game. Faced with undefeated Marseillais at the start of the championship (2 wins, 1 draw), the reigning Monegasque champion had a lot to do to sign a fourth success in as many games. After two minutes, it is clear that Leonardo Jardim’s men have taken the measure of what is at stake, and open the scoring through Kamil Glikideally served by Thomas Lemar.
Then follows a veritable avalanche on the Olympian goal. Back to back, Radamel Falcao (20th, 34th) and Adama Diakhaby (45th) shook the nets and brought the score to 4-0. In the second half, Djibril Sidibé scored his first goal of the season (5-0 68th). Reducing Rémy Cabella’s score won’t change anything and Fabinhoon penalty, takes care of closing the mark (6-1 79th). The defending championit’s AS Monaco!
