Prague 6 requests more information about the Dědina tram line, DPP will expand the website
Councilor of Prague 6 for transport Ondřej Matěj Hrubeš invited in a letter the Transport Company hl. m of Prague (DPP) to improve public awareness of the construction of the tram line from Divoká Šárka to Dědin. Based on this, the management of the transport company promised more information about the project on its website.
Prague 6 has already pointed out the lack of information regarding the tram line Divoká Šárka – Dědinská in December last year. Prague 6 councilor for transport Ondřej Matěj Hrubeš asked the management of the transport company to set up a special website where the public could find comprehensive information about the construction and especially about traffic restrictions.
“I consider the current subpage on the transport company’s website with a limited amount of information to be severely insufficient. For example, the upcoming metro route D has a much more structured website, where you can read about a number of specific things, which is missing from the Dědina subpage. In particular, there is a lack of information on how the individual phases of the construction are progressing, what impact this project has on the routing of urban public transport or where you can drive by car,” he says Ondřej Matěj Hrubešcouncilor of Prague 6 for transport, and continues: “In addition, this subpage does not have its own item in the main menu on the website of the transport company. It is therefore relatively hidden and more difficult to find, which only underlines that informing the public about this transport structure is not a priority for the transport company.”
Petr responded to Councilor Hrubeš’s initiative with a letter from the General Director of DPP Witowski, who promised to improve the sub-page with additional items – he directly stated the construction schedule. According to him, a similar microsite will also be created for the construction of the trolleybus line from Nádraží Veleslavín to Václav Havel Airport Prague and other ongoing constructions. “These microsites will form a new item in the main menu of our website with the working name New constructions, where the public can choose a specific project that interests them from the menu. We expect the launch of the improved microsite for the construction of the Dědinská tram line, the trolleybus line at Václav Havel Airport Prague and the New Construction signpost at the end of January 2023.” writes Petr Witowski.
Prague 6 also initiated the creation of a working group for the Dědina tram line, which will coordinate the smooth progress of the construction. Members are coalition and opposition representatives of Prague 6, the transport company and Ropid.
