Ideas for outings in Nord and Pas-de-Calais for the weekend of January 14 and 15
The Steene band returns in the Carnival of Dunkirk. Pinocchio at the Zéphyr in Hem, in sport and nature: the North escape challenge, a solidarity concert in Croix, a great exhibition in Dunkirk and the Laugh Show in Mouvaux! Get out well!
And the choice will be this week again Cornelian. Between the carnivals back in the region, a family show, another to fight against the ambient gloom, a nature outing, a contemporary art exhibition or even a solidarity concert, we will not be bored in the region.

It’s carnival time, and in a small town in Flanders, it’s even an event this weekend
In Steene, this one indeed returns this Saturday, after more than thirty years of absence, the last band had taken place before the Nineties. Suffice to say that the inhabitants are impatient. Top start this Saturday at 1 p.m., with the Blues Zoulous concert, at the Raymond-Devos room, before the band leaves for 3 p.m., in the village. The traditional herring throw will take place at 5:15 p.m. at the town hall, with the rigodon at 6 p.m. All with drum major Pilou 1er de Hoymille, and cantinière Val. The program promises to be more festive.
A family show at the Zéphyr in Hem
With this musical tale by Ely Grimaldi and Igor de Chaillé, which will transport us to the extraordinary adventures of the famous wooden puppet… Pinocchio and his friends the Cricket and the Blue Fairy. With this eternal and modern fairy tale, you will dive into a world of mischief and laughter.
This great musical show is a real hymn to childhood, between emotion, poetry, humor, acrobatics and songs.
A nature and sports outing
With the resumption of the Nord Evasion challenge. It is a sporting challenge which is organized by the Departmental Athletics Committee and the Department of the North to allow Northerners to discover the natural and tourist areas of the region, while practicing a physical activity: trail running or nature running. . Nine races are on the program, including Lecelles, Raismes, Douchy-les-mines and this Saturday the launch of the first race in Gravelines: “In the footsteps of Vauban”.
It offers sports enthusiasts the opportunity to discover, at night, the fortifications, the natural wooded areas, the beach, the dune cordon and the Aa park. The next events will take place between February 5 and November 19, 2023. Last year, this challenge brought together 11,000 athletes, 16 of whom attended all the events offered.
A show to strengthen our zygomatics
With the LAUGHTER SHOW, an exceptional show at the Etoile de Mouvaux hall this Saturday January 14 at 8:30 p.m. What is the LAUGHTER SHOW? It is a set of comedians from the Jean Blondeau theater school created by Stéphane Pezerat, an actor who can be found in many Dany Boon films, and the participation of 2 guest comedians, in this case Tom Boudet and Gaëtan Petit who is starting to be well known. And all these actors offer us humorous scenes for an evening: Theatre, sketch, one man.
A very funny evening not to be missed.
Anniversary exhibition in Dunkirk
Fabulous in Dunkirk, forty years ago, we opened a museum. A white building that sculpts the space and beautifully reflects the light. “Like long echoes that merge from afar”, is the title of this exhibition which celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Place of Art and Contemporary Action (LAAC). An exhibition tribute to Gilbert Delaine, a collector, at the time without any fortune of his own, but who had the idea and who knew how to convince the city to give shelter to contemporary plastic creation in the mid-20th century thanks to cultural patronage . The exhibition shows the great diversity of artists approached, including many artists from the region (Herbin, Dewasme, Pignon, Duchêne). There are also Arman, the Niçois, Vasarely, the Aixois, Arp, the Strasbourgeois, or even Miro Soulages, Poliakoff, Niki de Saint-Phalle… 13 young artists are also invited to confront their art with the great works of the collection.
A concert for a good cause on Saturday at Croix
Gino Samyn, the director and professor of the Conservatoire de Croix will be on stage, accompanied by the group In Live: 5 singers and 4 musicians for an evening dedicated to the 80s. The objective of this concert is to finance the project set up there 4 years ago by Gino Samyn, in Senegal where he created a brass band with the children of an orphanage in Mbour. Each year, he goes there with other musicians to give music lessons, the rest of the time, it is the musicians of the presidential guard who take over for the lessons and concerts in the schools of the bush.
It is therefore to continue to finance this solidarity project that this concert is given on Saturday evening at Croix. Reservations are to be made on the website: mbourlapoupenlive.fr
