He has currently completed the tender for the supplier of the project documentation (for the joint permit and the execution of the construction). The project will be delivered by SUDOP Prague for 18.5 million crowns, according to the public procurement gazette. Seven bidders took part in the tender, the expected price was 15 million.
The southern tangent is one of the largest transport investments in the South Bohemian Region. Its three-kilometer western branch (otherwise also the first stage of building a tangent), which is being built from 2021, will connect the D3 highway with the current I/3 road (drop-off at Dolní Dvořiště and Český Krumlov). It will cost 845 million crowns.
East Branch (II. tangent stage) connects to the western part of the D3 highway and leads to the Novi Hradská road II/156, which the region has used in recent years they are trying to “refine” bypasses of municipalities. The status is valid from 2026 to 2029, by which time the region must obtain a joint permit (in zoning and construction procedures) and buy the necessary land.
The eastern branch of the tangent will be 5.5 kilometers long, and the flyover over the Malša River and the adjacent biocorridor will probably be the most demanding construction element. The region of the Southern Tangent as a benefit also due to the connection of the international airport in Planá to the D3 highway. Among other things, a service center and facilities for trucks are to be created in the airport area.
The southern tangent will be road II. classes. The current I/3 road will also be transferred to the same category after the completion of the D3 highway.
