Jagr attracted the highest attendance in available. Jarda pulls, hats off to him, smacks Jandus
Both fan camps were responsible for the great atmosphere. “The game is completely different before such a visit. Spectators can be heard more and draw us even more into the match. Only a plus for us,” praised Jandus. “We would like that kind of atmosphere for every match,” he added.
Seeing the 50-year-old Jágr racing across the ice is a lure that is hard to resist. “I guess it’s because of him. A lot of people go to Sparta this year, but Jarda will of course attract fans. You can see for yourself what he demonstrates on the ice,” Kladno forward Matěj Beran also appreciated.
Otherwise, however, he didn’t have much reason to be happy. The last Knights returned to a string of defeats after three wins, three duels await the body. “We had a bit of luck before, which is not holding us back now. We also scored goals from power plays. We only had two of these now. Last match, not even one,” Berana regretted.
On the contrary, Sparta immediately took the lead in the initial numerical advantage. “The start was not ideal, but the first goal calmed us down. It was an up and down game, we tried to stay patient and calmly win by one goal,” described Jandus.
However, the second goal of the 25-year-old defender in the beginning of the third part calmed the people of Prague. “I saw that there was a free space in front of me on the right side. I fired at the far post and it fell there,” Jandus rejoiced.
The Spartans had already seen the end, the last goal to make it 4:0 “scored” by Pavel Kousal. The former Boleslav attacker scored a very curious first hit in the new jersey, as he drove towards an empty goal and was stopped by a mistake by Plekanec. He was therefore credited with a technical goal. The team from the main the city made good on Friday’s defeat against Liberec.
On Tuesday, however, an even tougher caliber awaits him, when he will visit the leaders Pardubice on the ice. “We’ll find out how we’re doing. It will mainly be about us and our approach. We have such a strong team that if we set our heads well, we can beat anyone,” believes Jandus.
