A plane made an emergency landing in Prague, a baby boy was born on board
After landing in Prague, the mother and the child were taken over by paramedics and taken to the hospital in Motola, both are fine. Michal Procházka and Petra Homolová from the Rescue Service of the Association of Samaritans of the Czech Republic, which provides a permanent medical service at Ruzyne Airport, told ČTK today on behalf of Prague Airport.
“A plane bound for Bucharest, on which the birth took place, landed safely here. I am glad that the mother and the baby are fine and I wish them good health,” the head of Prague Airport, Jiří Pos, said on Twitter.

The airport in Prague received information about the diversion of a plane heading from Britain to Romania due to a birth on board at 01:14. 12 minutes later, the news came that both the mother and the newborn boy were fine, Procházka said. Shortly after half past two in the morning, the plane landed in Prague and the woman and her newborn were taken to Motol. “At 02:17 the plane continued to Bucharest,” added Procházka.
According to Homolová, the boy born at night on board the plane weighed 2.75 kilograms. The mother is Romanian, both were fine after landing and were taken care of by paramedics in Motola.
