Youth and Sports Summit in the Century of Turkey
Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Board Member and National Teams Officer Hamit Altıntop, coaches Mustafa Denizli, Yılmaz Vural, former referee Cüneyt Çakır and Trabzonspor player Abdülkadir Ömür, Youth in the Century of Turkey and Sport met at the summit.
Hamit Altıntop, Mustafa Denizli, Yılmaz Vural, Cüneyt Çakır and Abdülkadir Ömür, who were in charge of a panel in the meeting organization at the Turkuvaz Media Center, answered the questions posed.
Referring to the importance of raising top-level players, Hamin Altıntop said, “Star means sacrifice, hope, taking responsibility, being accepted, this is the most important thing for me, being serious and seeking appreciation. The more we can discuss them or support them higher. This is the only one. It is not something that will happen by itself. The environment, family and friends are also important. The most important factor is the teacher.” said.
Explaining what conditions the coaches fulfill and that the coaches have made surprising progress in recent years when they compare with European countries, Altıntop said, “Unfortunately, they do not work with the best facilities. This is true for them.” he said.
Noting that the sports culture is not very common in Turkey and the families cannot guide the football players very well, Altıntop, upon a question about the low salaries of the infrastructure coaches, said as a result:
“What conditions they are working to fulfill. Believe me, the question of that time is also forbidden, even if they do not accept the requirement and become a union, apply to clubs, federations, resist, question, own it. This is also true for our clubs. We cannot be very efficient in acting together. I have gained a lot from football spiritually. It will be like this tomorrow. I want it to be like this and benefit everyone. It will not act like this, it will stay in the same place, it will not be able to achieve stability.”
He recounted the interview where he hit his hand on his desk.
Hamit Altıntop, supporting the National Team Coach Stefan Kuntz during an interview with Yılmaz Vural, stated that when he tried to hit his hand on the table, there was no soldier like he was used to, and he never intended to send news to anyone.
“This may not be held tomorrow. The criteria are required, it is not recommended to respect the teacher, this approach should not be like this, as a person who sleeps with Turkish football, as a management, it is directed to take care of the people there.” Altıntop said, “Invoices can be made when appropriate, and that these are also buildings, but he is trying to point out that he is against creating a perception there.”
Also, reminding him of his exit from the media game in that interview, Altıntop said, “Unfortunately, the media game does not make his job easier. Sometimes we can lose control. As in the Altay-Göztepe match, adrenaline can rise and unfortunately bad images can emerge.” made its assessment.
Mustafa Denizli is not positive about raising stars
Coach Mustafa Denizli emphasized that he will reach a good point in raising star players, and that the star is observed not only in Turkey but also in world football.
Expressing that he will see this situation in the World Cup, Denizli said that for 15 years, world football has revolved around the names of 2-3 stars.
“It is very difficult to work for the future star in Turkey. Clubs do not have the opportunity to invest in young people anyway. There is a picture where they are swimming in debt.” Stating that, the man said that the loyalty of the fans has become a result and it was unfortunate that the national team did not show up in international tournaments.
Referring to the eventful Altay-Göztepe match, Denizli said, “I didn’t go to the match. My heart was really broken when I saw it. These are things that not only we but also world football follow. Then nobody wants your football. There is a big difference between the past and today. Unfortunately, we as a society today We will forget most of what we talked about. It is obvious at the point they have reached in football. Our clubs are in trouble. Infrastructure investment is getting harder. There is no question of hope.” expressed an opinion.
Former referee and TFF referee trainer Cüneyt Çakır, one of the participants, stated that during the whistle blowing, he watched the matches of the teams in the tournaments, knew the players, and that’s why success came.
Football player Abdülkadir Ömür also stated that he does not see himself as a star, that he has a way to go and that he wants to contribute to his companies and Turkish football by developing it further.
Yılmaz Vural, on the other hand, claimed that the basic principle of football is not known by the players, and said that mental and physical revolution is a condition for development.
