Toulouse. Strike of social security agents: “The system is breaking the mouth”
The national inter-union call for a strike by employees of the 4 branches of social security (CAF, URSSAF, CPAM CARSAT) mobilized a large number of local agents. They gathered in front of the Haute-Garonne prefecture to demand higher wages, better working conditions and to denounce the deterioration in the quality of public service for recipients. a delegation was received by the prefectural team.
A hundred strikers gathered in the cold this Tuesday, December 13 in front of the Haute-Garonne prefecture. They are responding to the national inter-union call for mobilization within the framework of the mandatory annual negotiations taking place today with the UCANSS (Union of National Social Security Funds). The UCANSS is a private law body under the supervision of the State. One of its skills is to bring social dialogue to life in the various funds. It is also the intermediary between the 4 branches of social security and the State.
Local CFTC, FO and CGT union representatives responded, but also many non-union strikers. The expectations relate to purchasing power but not only, “Our demands are simple, in particular an increase in the value of the point to 10 euros (currently at 7.5 euros, editor’s note), the value of the point has not been reassessed since 2010 apart from a small revision of 3.5% in October” remarks Gyslaine Ayache regional manager CGT social organizations.
This revaluation does not compensate for inflation above 6% in France, “The purchasing power of social security employees has fallen by 15% since 2011” estimates Pascal Lezat, departmental secretary FO and employee of CARSAT. He also wishes to alert on the situation of his fund, “At CARSAT Midi-Pyrénnée, the workload is always greater because they indicate the workforce. A “psychosocial risks” alert has been drawn up by the occupational doctor, 30% employees met at the beginning of the year present this problem. expresses the trade unionist wearily.
“I am at 1300 euros with a baccalaureate +4”
For many, the degradation does not only concern the working conditions of the employees but the whole system, “it’s breaking the neck! We spend our time apologizing for not providing quality service” laments Zenou Maryline, FO delegate at CAF.
The mobilization is also strong among non-union members, Pierre*, a CAF employee for a year and a half, is on strike for the first time in his life “I am at 1300 euros with a baccalaureate +4″, every year I have the right to a salary increase of 14 euros gross, we are never listened to in our demands, I will consider going elsewhere if I am not heard” regrets the father of the family.
A delegation was received at 10.30 am by the prefecture, the representatives defended their demands there and hope that they will be taken into consideration.
