Tourists know where to find the Netherlands during the Christmas period
International bookings (from foreigners in our country) for this Christmas period have been accepted with 66%. The most rising increases are: 71% more bookings from Germany and 37% more bookings from Belgium. Here, too, bookings are made longer in advance: last year an average of 3 months, this year an average of 4 months. This is evident from research by Belvilla by OYO.
Belvilla by OYO sees a sharp increase in the number of Dutch bookings for locations abroad for the start of the Christmas period. This is evident from the booking data of the holiday home giant. This year, 70% of the bookings for Christmas from our country concern a foreign location.

The level of bookings for this period is equal to that in the same period last year and twice the level of 2020. The number of bookings is linked back to the level of 2019. 70% of the Dutch bookings for the 2022 Christmas period therefore concern foreign expectations. Last year this was about 59% of the total.
Dutch bookings in Austria are excited at 7% ten similar from the same period last year. Dutch bookings in Belgium are capitalized by 4% as a result of the same period last year.
Longer from pre-booked
While the average period between booking and stay last year was almost 4 months, this year it is almost 5 months. It means that the Dutch want to be sure that they can enjoy their holiday, do not want to miss out on their preferred home and therefore book longer in advance. 11-day stays confirmed at 31%; the number of 7-day stays by 19% – both ten previous years.
