Tiffany & Co. with a new shop in the Globus in Zurich
reopening
With a more open concept, the jewelry store is located on the ground floor of the department store, which is in the luxury segment.
Anyone who knows the Tiffany & Co. store on Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse appreciates the intimacy in a small area. But space is limited and the threshold for new customers may also be high; so it may be logical that the jeweller, which has been modernizing since it was taken over by the LVMH group, is also making a name for itself with new store concepts.
An area of around 100 square meters was created on the ground floor of the Zurich department store Globus, which is intended to attract a new clientele. The large graphics on the facade immediately catch the eye as you walk by: they are considered a homage to Louis Comfort Tiffany, first design director, of his father Charles Lewis Tiffany’s shop founded in New York in 1837.
The store itself, with its round counters, is open and generously designed, so that customers would also spontaneously and without the pressure that conventional flagship stores can cause, turn around to look at the jewelery creations on display here, such as these by design icons Elsa Peretti and Jean Schlumberger.
You can still find it in the new store, the classic Tiffany blue, but the brand is slowly saying goodbye to its generous use; Here in the globe, it seems to be reserved for jewelry boxes. Instead, the jewelry brand uses a subtle champagne beige and a warm wooden floor in this new area.
The “Diamond Bar”, as you might call it, is where the bling feeling comes from, where the house’s “Love & Engagement” pieces are on display. The most striking design element here is the installation, inspired by a Tiffany diamond.
The works of art by the Dutchman Eelco Hilgersom and the Czech Jan Kaláb form a contrast to this.
