West Warsaw. Preparations for the next two platforms
Starting from December 11, the spores of changes in the bases of the Warszawa Zachodnia station will be launched. The next platforms – 4 and 3 – will be closed. Access to the station will also change: the open ones will be connected to Aleje Jerozolimskie side.
The works will also cause a change in access from Al. Jerozolimskie. To get to platforms 1-2 and 6-9, travelers will use the inserts, which can be entered from the square next to the station building (next to the West Station office buildings). In addition, access from the station to platforms 1-2 will also be provided by the existing tunnel.
The works at the station are described in the timetable. From December 11, some trains running through Warszawa Zachodnia will be driven by the passenger Warszawa Gdańska. Some components of regional and agglomeration trains are used via Warszawa Centralna, shortened or extraordinary.
The connection of traffic control devices in the new building of the local management center (LCS) at the Warszawa Zachodnia station and in the building of the Warszawa Włochy signal box is already being completed. Notification of all work will be carried out with the help of a computer control device. From the outside of the station, three-kilometer railway networks are built. Tracks, turnouts are laid and the catenary is hung. A new solution to the problem with Radom, e.g. towards Warszawa Koło and Młynów stops on the ring line. Below the station level, in the pedestrian tunnel between platforms no. 9 and platform no. 6, floors are laid and walls are finished. Structures for escalators and elevators are being built. Install energy installations. Works related to canal systems and drainage are in progress.
From December 19, the contractor will perform work near the Warszawa Ochota stop. a link will be built between the suburban cross-city line and the long-distance cross-city line. a solution to improve the planning and movement of trains during the implementation of the works stage and to increase the possibilities of traffic organization after the investment is completed. Works – in agreement with materials – completed by January 8. During this time there will be changes in communication. In both cases, the traffic per Warszawa Zachodnia – Warszawa Śródmieście – Warszawa Wschodnia unit will be one track. Some regional and agglomeration trains will be shortened or recommended.
