Unions suspend strike at Altice Portugal
ANDn a statement, the unions point out “unforeseen” reasons for this suspension, namely the storm on Wednesday night, December 7, “with floods that generated chaos, situations that were seen through the media, this that certainly left a huge amount of malfunctions that generated urgent”.
At this moment, and bearing in mind that “no one knows how the next few days are going to be, the Unions of the Frente Sindical, positioning the interests of those of December.
However, they point out that it “will be rescheduled depending on weather conditions and the progress of the salary negotiation process and the situation of health plans”.
“In the most difficult moments that arise due to unforeseen situations, unions have the responsibility to make decisions in compliance”, he underlined.
The National Union of Telecommunications and Audiovisual Workers (SINTTAV), the National Union of Postal and Telecommunications Workers (SNTCT), the STT – Union of Telecommunications and Audiovisual Communication Workers (STT), the Federation of Engineers and the Union of Staff Communications (Sinquadros) had given a 24-hour strike notice for Friday, requesting wage increases.
The strike notice would impact the companies Meo Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia, Altice Portugal, PT Cloud and Data Centers, Altice Labs, PT ACS – Health Care Association, Portugal Telecom Foundation, Portugal Telecom Data Center, PT Contact and PT Sales, Tnord, Sudtel, Field Force Atlântico and Winprovit.
The five union structures had called for concentrations next to the Altice buildings in Lisbon, Porto, Funchal and Ponta Delgada, which have now been suspended.
