Steel Wings lost 4-0 in Salzburg
The Linzer would have imagined the guest appearance of the Steinbach Steel Wings at the Red Bull Hockey Juniors differently. After 60 minutes there is a 0:4 defeat because you didn’t get into the game. However, they are too high.
Daniel Assavolyuk put the Ice Young Bulls ahead in the 13th minute. David Cernik increased 55 seconds later to make it 2-0, making the home team’s double strike perfect. And it came practically out of nowhere. The middle section ended goalless, Salzburg scored twice more in the final period: Luca Auer converted a powerplay situation in the 46th minute to make it 3-0 and Maximilian Mackner made it 4-0 (59th).
“The conclusion from this game is pretty simple. We had a few chances to score but didn’t do it. On the other hand, Salzburg scored two goals out of nothing in the first period. The second difference was in the special teams. We had many, many Chances to score goals in the power play, but we didn’t succeed. Then it’s difficult to win if you don’t score goals. But there was also effort that went unrewarded,” said Steel Wings coach Matej Hocevar after the game.
