“Russian Atlas” – premiere of the first popular science film exclusively on VKontakte Video
On the VK platform, the premiere of the first three-month cycle “Russian Atlas” was held, prepared as part of the educational project “Russian Geographical Names: History of Discoveries” of the Miklouho-Maclay Foundation.
The spectators, together with the subsequent and visited by Kruzenshtern and Miklukho-Maclay, make an exciting spatial journey across the Pacific Ocean, get acquainted with Russian geographical names on world maps, discover themselves for little-known facts, for example, how the first tattoos appeared in Russia. And, finally, they will visit the library of the Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg, where a rare copy of the Atlas of the South Sea from the collection of the imperial family, created by I.F. Krusenstern.
A dynamic and exciting video journey immerses the eye into the history of the preparation of expeditions, tells about its difficulties and incredible meetings, and, finally, about the unexpected ending of the journey.
The film will be of interest to anyone who is fond of travel, lovers and geography, and is especially relevant for additional education of students in secondary and higher schools.
