Naval Friendship of the Hanover Region meets on Seaman’s Sunday
REGION
Still a tradition in the German Navy and the former and current members of the German Navy still like to celebrate Seaman’s Sunday, which takes place every Thursday. Seaman’s Sunday is an apparent tradition observed on Thursday of each week by the crews of merchant ships and members of the German Navy stationed at sea and ashore. On this day, the crews have a particularly good meal, comparable to a Sunday meal.
Those who still serve in the Navy are just as welcome as former Navy comrades. The next meeting will take place on December 15, 2022 at 7 p.m. in the Am Markt restaurant in Großburgwedel.
If you would like to be there and register, would like to remember your time at work and would like to exchange ideas, you can contact Andreas Genske by phone on 0162/9597170 or by e-mail andreas.genske(at)gmx.de register. It’s the dining choice to opt for kale or roulades.
Anyone who has served in the Navy in the past for his basic military service, as a temporary soldier, or as a career soldier is just as welcome as those who are currently serving in the German Navy.
One of the plans for next year is to visit the Navy Museum in Wilhelmshaven together. Some may then return to their place of work from the past. The Naval Friendship rejoices as the camaraderie continues to grow.
