From enthusiast to trickshotter with thousands of subscribers
Lucas has always been immersed in the world of sport. After playing football for 10 years, he traded his cleats for Jordans. It was in high school that the Toulousain, then 16 years old, started the basket, a passion that had always slumbered in him. Around the same time, Lucas discovers the trickshot and begins to practice it as an autodidact. A discipline coming straight from the United States, based on performances of all kinds, each more impressive than the next.
As a good fan of the orange ball, Lucas mixes trickshot and basketball. “With a friend, we are characterized by atypical challenges: putting baskets back, shooting as far as possible, etc..”. Inspired by the famous group of American youtuber trickshotters “Dude perfect” and the French “The Breizh Mamba“, Lucas continues the performances. Prowess that he shares on social networks. And a few baskets later, the magic worked. “It happened little by little, in particular thanks to shares from large Instagram accounts millions of subscribers”. Today, Lucas, or rather El Chicolatine, has more than 10,600 subscribers on instagram and 47,000 on Tiktok.
A video with the stadium
Through social networks, several videos of the Toulouse trickshoteur are going viral, especially on the see put a basket from the Toulouse Stadium bridge. “There must have been 40 meters between the basket and me, it’s the longest distance I’ve managed to do so far”. A performance that did not go into preview on the side of the Violets.
The TFC contacted me offering to shoot a video on the occasion of the resumption of the NBA.
This is how last October Lucas found himself putting baskets 30 meters away from the stands of the league 1 club. And after 92 attempts and 47 minutes, the feat was accomplished. And this, under the eyes of the Brazilian striker of TFC Ratao, who joined him. A childhood dream for the Toulousain, and “my father, a fervent supporter of the club”, adds Lucas.
Head full of baskets
The key to success, “it’s training and perseverance”, says the Toulouse trickshotter. “What I do, anyone can do it, it’s not necessarily talent,” he adds modestly. It is with this magic recipe that the basket maker managed to work miracles. “My best performance, I filmed it in a skatepark. This is a shot on which I spent 11 hours in total. It is not the furthest but the most difficult because it took put an spin in the ball. I must have tried to hit it at least 3,000 times before I got there,” explains the trickshotter.
Gathered around this discipline, Lucas met other basketball trickshot enthusiasts. “There is a small community of basketball trickshotters in France. There are not many of us, but we support each other a lot. We met on social networks and now we see each other regularly, they have become friends, dedication at Son Gohou More inspired than ever, Lucas has his head full of baskets. chosen is sure, the result will once again be spectacular.
