Finland sent school buses to Ukraine
Finland sent the first five buses to Ukraine to transport children and youth to school as part of the European Commission’s solidarity campaign.

War Russia affected approximately 5.7 million schoolchildren in Ukraine, with many schools destroyed during the bombings, the statement said.
“Russia has increased its attacks on civilian forces as winter approaches. The devastation is extensive and Ukraine needs many forms of aid. For example, the country lacks serviceable transportation. Finland has also sent Ukraine medicine, medical supplies and assistance in the energy sector. We will continue to listen I would like to thank everyone who offered their help,” said Interior Minister Krista Mikkonen.
It is noted that Finland will send more buses to Ukraine at the end of the year. A total of 20 buses are planned to be handed over to Ukraine by Finnish companies Koiviston Auto Oy, Pohjolan Liikenne and Erkki Itkonen Oy.
Since the start of the full-scale war in February, Finland has sent 50 trucks of civilian material aid to Ukraine and four to Moldova.
Finland also made six fire engines and 13 ambulances in Ukraine. The monetary value of the material assistance is more than four million euros. Currently, several batches with a total cost of several million euros are being prepared.
In addition, Finland has deployed experts to Poland, Moldova, Slovakia and the Emergency Response Coordination Center (ERCC) to help coordinate assistance provided through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
