The new system is already being tested, soon hundreds of employees will be able to record passenger data, so the time of surcharges will be shorter, and so will the quality of the recorded data on Thursday, BKK told MTI.
They wrote that they are constantly working on the instructions for the tasks related to ticket inspection and on increasing the efficiency of their staff. With this, as they put it, they “indirectly help faster travel” and more convenient administration.
According to the announcement, the electronic data reading technology currently being tested is already being used by the authorities for identification and border crossings. The essence of this is to record the personal data on the data carriers of the electronic identity cards and passports in the ticket control application with one touch when paying a surcharge.
It was emphasized that the device of the ticket inspectors records only the necessary data, and they are only used during the collection process of surcharge claims.
For those passengers who do not yet have a document containing a data carrier, it is continuously recorded manually, they added.
The general introduction of the application of the new technology will begin on December 12, 2022, according to the announcement of the BKK.
