On Thursday, the big day came, when people who consume domestic domestic politics to the extent that the members of parliament can ask the question: do we need more of this bagasse characterized by Igor Matovič and Boris Kollár? Or is it rather these, and let’s not risk it, because somehow the biggest friend of the Hungarian foreign minister, the business-minded Robert Fico, will find his way back into the next government?
This is how the students see the government
Members of the legislature will have to vote on such and similar proposals next week on Tuesday. But for this to be so, already this afternoon, I started the extraordinary session, where a motion of no confidence in the government could be debated. Which, by the way, was opposed by Sa a couple of months ago, and which, by the way, was also supported by Hlas, who left Smer two years ago. The Richard Sulíkés argue that the cabinet led by Eduard Heger cannot solve people’s problems, moreover – partly under pressure from the Kollárés – it has abandoned the fight against the mafia and corruption, and that next year’s state budget is as bad as it was submitted. One word like a hundred the government is dysfunctional and there is not a single party in the remaining coalition that can or wants to rein in Matovič, who was forced to oust him as prime minister last year due to his intractable nature.
Heger would soften it
His colleague, Prime Minister Heger, who took his place at the time, is now arguing with the fear of the return of Smer, and is thus trying to soften the SaS representatives who submitted the proposal. According to him, the government will be fed up, then Fico’s can return again, as they did in 2012, after the fall of the Radičová government. In which the SaS was up to its neck even then, but which has since been allegedly regretted. Now, however, the replacement of the Heger government is doubtful: the ruling party can count on the support of only 73 representatives, but of the remaining 77 colleges, everyone has decided which button to press when voting on the motion of no confidence. There are a few representatives who are wondering what they have done until the last moment.
All good news
However, if until then there will be as many favorable news as we observed on Thursday, we could even guess that Heger and his team can stay at the helm. Of course, despite the fact that the administration can only relate to one of the following three pieces of information.
Among other things, it was confirmed today that fuel prices continue to fall. You have to pay less for refueling again: The price of gasoline is now the lowest since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, diesel has also fallen below a psychological threshold. And if the tariffs are already developing like this, one involuntarily thinks how good it would be if this downward trend lasted at least until the summer. Because if everything else remains unchanged until then, perhaps a vacation, say, at the Croatian coast, could be considered. Where next year we will be able to cross without border controlbecause on Thursday Croatia’s Schengen accession, which is also mandatory, was approved.
The train is not waiting, but the schedule is new
If I were to go by train, it’s not a bad idea either, since the connections will speed up according to the train timetable valid from Sunday, and passengers can arrive at their destination up to a quarter of an hour earlier. The new order was put together in such a way that traffic growth, cost reduction and two-minute acceleration on intercity lines. So Slovakia is doing very well!
