Toulouse. The museum as if you were there, thanks to Micro-Folie
The first Micro-Folie in Haute-Garonne has just opened its doors in the Izards/Trois Cocus district in Toulouse. This project led by the town hall of Toulouse in partnership with La Vilette is intended to put art within everyone’s reach. Installed in the premises of the Cultural Center of Renan district, Micro-Folie Toulouse is a vast digital gallery which brings together multiple artistic forms: fine arts, architecture, scientific culture, living arts (opera, ballet, theater, etc.), poetry or music. Thanks to a high-definition screen, digital tablets and augmented reality vision headsets, you can access thousands of international works from national museums or as well as the largest French cultural structures (Château de Versailles, Cité de la Music-Philharmonie of Paris, Avignon Festival, Arab World Institute, etc.). “The goal is to give art to those who are furthest from it, to make them want to go to museums or other places of culture”, explains Lisa the mediator.
“We need to arouse curiosity and for young people this goes through games or digital tools (helmets, tablets), while older people need more support in the use of these tools”, she adds. . The most curious have the possibility of accessing additional information associated with each work, in the form of texts, images or videos. Micro-Folie Toulouse brings together a total of 8 collections enriched once a year, 10,000 documents, more than 1,000 masterpieces, an augmented reality viewing space, and can receive groups, organize workshops or conferences.
