Put on your coat, put on your canada goose jacket and go out on the ice. Ice skating for young and old lovers of winter fun is here again. For the seventh season, the Municipality of the Capital City of Prague has been running the skating rink at Letná.
“It’s one of the biggest, if not the biggest, in Prague, it’s 40×20 meters and next to it there’s another smaller ice rink 10 by 20 meters, it’s mainly for small skaters so they don’t get confused among the big ones,” said Vít Hofman – spokesperson of the City Hall m of Prague.
The area of the rink is equipped with a walking rubber carpet. Thus, visitors can rest or eat outside the ice area with skates on their feet.
Visitors will not freeze when changing their skates this year either.
“There is also a facility in the form of a heated tent, where people can either rest or hide in the heat, they can also buy food and drink,” said Vít Hofman – spokesman for the City Hall. m of Prague.
There is a bistro open by the rink, where there is a classic offer of hot drinks and something smaller for a snack. Of course, there is also a skate rental including a sharpening shop. The public and students can skate here.
“In the morning, mainly programs for schools are prepared, where schools can sign up and make arrangements in advance so that ice skating instructors will be on site and help the children improve or simply teach them,” said Vít Hofman – spokesperson for the City Hall. m of Prague.
