At a meeting of the Government of Ukraine, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that during the period of martial law in the country, the government allocated UAH 1 trillion 130 billion to the army and the variable sector in general.

UAH 770 billion was spent on salaries for defenders of Ukraine. The purchase, repair and modernization of military equipment and weapons cost 176.2 billion UAH. This is more than the total for the last 10 years.

Financial support of the Ukrainian army and the country’s security remain priority aspects, Shmyhal said.

In a word, the main part of all its budgetary resources is directed specifically to the defense sphere.

“Absolutely all the taxes that citizens and businesses currently pay to the budget are directed to support our military,” the message reads.
