Joao Felix’s highlights against Switzerland are incredible, he will be Portugal’s most important man for years
Joao Felix produced a brilliant performance as Portugal sailed into the World Cup quarter-finals 6-1 against Switzerland on Tuesday night.
Although Cristiano Ronaldo started on the bench, Portugal were dominant from start to finish as goals from Pepe, Raphael Guerreiro, Rafael Leao and a hat-trick from Goncalo Ramos sealed an overwhelming victory.
Although the headlines were made by ronaldo and ramos, Felix‘s performance did not go unnoticed as his performance garnered a lot of praise from fans and proved he can be Portugal’s main man for years to come.
Felix’s overall play stood out throughout the game as he showed some great close control and intricate passes to create chances for himself and his teammates.
His best game was the beautiful pass for his side’s first goal as he picked up the ball from a throw-in, the Atletico Madrid man weaved out of a tight space and threaded a wonderful ball for Ramos to bat home.
Despite not being on the top scorer list, Felix recorded two assists and played a big role in Portugal’s fifth goal. It’s been a pleasure to see Felix play when he’s at his best. A wonderful achievement.
What was said about his performance?
Fans from many clubs purred at Felix’s performance and urged their club to sign the 23-year-old.
One said: “Someone please tag Guardiola in this video.”
Another tweeted: “He’s special. Get him to Old Trafford as soon as possible!”
A third fan added: “Ramos stole the show but that’s football magic from Felix. This man has to leave Atlético quickly.”
It was a mature performance from Felix as he showed the world exactly what he is capable of. No wonder many big clubs across the continent are trying to lure him away from Madrid. He’ll only get better, the question is if Atlético be able to hold on to their most valuable asset.
