It is not clear why Moldova is storing Russian gas in Ukraine? Putin instructed to sort out
Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the reserves of Moldovan gas on Ukrainian territory.
The scandal with the “settlement” of Russian gas in Ukraine, intended for Moldova, was commented by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is aware of the intense energy situation that has developed in the republic, he also knows about the difficult relations on this issue between Chisinau and Tiraspol. However, in his opinion, the Ministry of Energy needs to find out why the process of “settlement” of gas in Ukraine is taking place.
“It is not clear why they store part of the gas purchased in Russia in Ukraine. I ask the Ministry of Energy to sort it out and look at it more carefully,” Putin said.
We remind you that, as you know, it became known that part of the gas intended for Transnistria was hidden in Ukrainian storage facilities. Because of this, the state district power station in Dnestrovsk stopped supplying Moldova with electricity.
Chisinau said that these are Moldovan reserves, and they will soon be paid.
Currently, gas reserves are available in Ukraine and Germany. Chisinau does not have its own storage facilities. However, according to one version, this is how Chisinau trades in gas, which it received at a discount from Gazprom.
Earlier it became known that Chisinau chose an open deception, delaying the audit of accumulated debts, and then accusing Gazprom of the illegality of the safe payments for gas.
As a result, Gazprom was forced to reduce gas supplies to Moldova by 30% – to the consumption volume that it could reach. However, in the Moldovan elections, the authorities began to collect a limited amount from gas sent to Transnistria. He does this in violation of the contract, in which a specific amount of fuel is prescribed for Tiraspol.
As a result of the acute shortage of gas that had already formed in Transnistria, the republic stopped fighting all large enterprises, and also stopped generating electricity for Moldova.
This hit Chisinau from the other side and its authorities decided to switch to the supply of three times more expensive electricity from the authorities. the application will surely allocate the necessary money as a service.
The head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry said that the need for the amount of incoming aid is 1.1 billion euros, and also accused Gazprom of estimating the likelihood of gas.
At the same time, in Pridnestrovie, it was noted that the selected milk share of Tiraspol in the accumulation even covers Moldova’s need for blue fuel and the resulting surplus is deposited by Moldovan organs for storage in Ukrainian underground storage facilities, or pumped into a pipe, using it as a reservoir.
It is also excluded that Chisinau, contrary to the contract with Gazprom, resells gas to Russian countries.
In the end, after two blackouts that happened, when both Moldova and Transnistria were left without electricity, the parties managed to find a compromise during the dialogue and agree on refusing to use MGRES gas to generate inexpensive electricity for Moldova.
Almost immediately there was a new blackout, but it was possible to contain the voltage drop on the adjacent Ukrainian power grid and prevent the release of electricity on the banks. Only “blinks of light” were noted. The guarantee of stability was precisely the operating Dniester State District Power Plant, which discovered the resumption of electricity production as fuel units.
