Hospital manager removed: country agrees
politics
Health officer Christian Stöckl (ÖLVP) supports the decision of the supervisory board to part with managing director Cornelia Lindner – on behalf of the state government as the sponsor of the church-run hospital in Schwarzach. The personnel chaos should have forced those responsible to act.
According to insiders, the background to the affair may also have been the management style of the medical scientist. The processes are also of professional interest to the responsible man in the state government, the health officer and Deputy Prime Minister Christian Stöckl (ÖVP). The state of Salzburg contributes millions in taxes to the budget of the Schwarzach hospital run by the Sisters of Mercy.
“You have to take appropriate steps”
Stöckl describes that the working atmosphere there has gotten worse and worse: “There was a lot of turnover among doctors, nurses and administrative staff. Many have left the hospital. It is then necessary to take appropriate steps. Therefore, I support the decision of the supervisory board.”
Stöckl says he hopes that calm will return to the Schwarzach hospital. The contract and thus probably also the payment of managing director Cornelia Lindner runs until the end of March. But she has already left her job. So far, she herself has not been available for ORF to comment.
One shrouds oneself in silence about the details
In autumn 2020, Cornelia Lindner was appointed managing director of the hospital. In the summer of 2021, the dismissal of a primary then made waves. They finally agree on an amicable separation. The hospital nun is silent about the details of the manager’s departure.
