Berlin project fund Urbane Praxis: New call for proposals for the funding program for artistic engagement with urban space and urban society
On December 12, 2022, the Berlin project fund Urbane Praxis will enter the third call for proposals. Equipped with a total of 1.2 million euros, the fund supports projects that deal artistically with urban space and urban society.
The application period runs from December 12, 2022 to January 15, 2023. From the beginning of March to the end of December 2023, projects including development phases and workshops can be implemented. The projects should think differently about the city, use it creatively and show new perspectives on urban development. To this end, local actors such as neighborhoods, initiatives, district centers, community associations, small shops, etc. should be considered and, if possible, created. This can happen on the street, in parks, in public places, but also in parking lots, backyards and in publicly accessible interiors.
It is important that the projects reflect social exclusion and actively work on access opportunities for people who are affected by discrimination. Underrepresented artists and cultural workers and practices are taken into account.
All artists and cultural workers based in Berlin, including (landscape) architects, are eligible to apply: from freelance, independent groups and collectives to artistic and cultural institutions to associations and GmbHs.
The regular funding amount is 10,000 to 60,000 euros per project. Up to 100,000 euros can be requested for the removal of barriers and for larger areas.
Interested parties can already register at the website
register and then fill out the online application from December 12th.
