Belarus sent a request to the UN for a report on international Chernobyl cooperation
December 7, Minsk / Corr. BELTA/. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Yury Ambrazevich on December 6 at the site of the United Nations on issues of humanitarian assistance, including in the Specialty of International Chernobyl Cooperation. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
Yury Ambrazevich compiled in the course of monitoring the heightened risk of the UN 69 “Participation in the emergence of humanitarian assistance and assistance in the event of a danger detected by the UN, including special economic assistance.”
The Deputy Minister noted that international solidarity around Chernobyl in conclusion brought together resolutions and a fair approach of people from Belarus and many countries of the world, became the best form of public diplomacy and depoliticized international cooperation.
The Belarusian diplomat drew attention to the fact that over more than 35 years Belarus has become a full partner and an expert country with experience in overcoming the consequences of a large-scale man-made disaster, and the availability of broad scientific and practical experience in the field of medicine and ecology, production of clean products, reclamation lands, fidelity to exclusion from the situation. The Belarusian people are the president of the people who have outgrown their tragedy and consciously accepted the peaceful atom by building the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
