Toulouse: the Doudoune Club takes up winter quarters at Cours Dillon
With the opening of the Doudoude Club, on the banks of the Garonne for a winter, the Cours Dillon is transformed into a guinguette. On the menu: oysters, raclettes, burger, hot chocolate… And good humor.
Its white marquee is already placed on the Cours Dillon, a stone’s throw from the Château d’Eau, in the heart of Toulouse. From this Tuesday evening, the Doudoune Club, this ephemeral winter guinguette, takes up residence close to the Garonne, until the end of March.
A few hours before the opening, drills in hand for some, boxes for others, everyone is busy with the final preparations with application.
Warm environment
The atmosphere of the Doudoune Club is already intended to be warm with its large wooden terrace, its six chalets on the side, each of which will have a culinary theme, its bar container at the back and its 60 light wood tables in the center which can accommodate up to 400 people. All sprinkled with light garlands and fir trees for the Christmas touch. Which is reminiscent of the mountain atmosphere. “The idea was to reproduce the convivial spirit of summer guinguettes but in winter with appropriate catering. All in a beautiful musical atmosphere”, announces Amine Britel, one of the three managers of the Club with Guenaël de Kermel and Laura Brousses.
With the December frosts, Toulouse residents are invited to come with down jackets and mittens “even if we have planned to place crystal tarpaulins to prevent the wind from blowing under the marquee. We will have heating but it will really be extra because the chalets will give off heat”, continues Amine.
On these 500 m2, guests will be able to savor “revisited burgers, raclette, tapas, fish & chips, oyster platters, Alsatian gastronomy or pancakes and waffles without forgetting hot drinks”, explains Guenaël.
The Doudoune Club will be open for lunch and dinner every day except Monday. Reservations are recommended for groups.
