Toulouse. Laure Vieusse exhibits “The highways of thought”
After an exhibition in 2019, Toulouse artist Laure Vieusse is back at Place de La Daurade in Toulouse.
With the associations La Porte Ouverte and SOS Amitié, it presents to the Municipal Health Community (CMS), its “Highways of thought and crossroads”. This series of acrylic paintings started in 97 shows the failings of the mass consumer society, loneliness, indifference, manipulation, but also the bonds of solidarity that can emerge from it. Rarely exhibit works that jostle the visitor by inciting him to reflection, when it is easier to let oneself be carried along the all-troubled path than to deviate from it. His paintings, very graphic and stylized, we almost always offer a two-level reading and suggest an open door. From a distance, it gives off an atmosphere, a movement, and as you approach it, you discover life in every detail. Human beings can choose to pass each other without speaking or to find each other, to undergo rules or to understand them, to fit or not in a pre-established framework. Sometimes, she does not hesitate to deliver a more pessimistic look, even if, she says, “today we only want positive, joyful, and above all not to think”. Laure Vieusse has been painting for 40 years and moved to Tournefeuille about ten years ago.
She has exhibited since 1997 everywhere in France and abroad (Japan, Belgium, Italy, England), but today limits her travels for health reasons. For those who wish to discuss with the artist, note that it will be presented on Saturdays and Sundays at the CMS.
You can also find a new exhibition in January at the Espace de la Paderne in Tournefeuille.
